Brokeback Island

When the monkeys swam across to the island, we continued cooking our lunch. When they wanted to grab our stuff, so did we. They were aggressive and we were defensive.
And as we retreated, I heard a sound.. it was a voice, Kuhan's voice.. it said : Fucking monkey is eating my lunch !

It was Saturday morning when I had to prepare a few last minute things and wait for Kuhan to arrive at my house. 5 something and I was up and about. We left bout 6.30 or so. We knew only 2 things; we re going south and we were going to camp on an island.

By the time we could see the Straits of Malacca, it went something like this..the sun is up, the sky is blue, it's beautiful. We stopped at a local police station to ask for directions. But it was of no help since they don't know where we're talking about..as much as I don't know what Kuhan was talking about.

Checked out an island or 2 which were visible from the coast but we noticed the water wasn't too clean. Finally we stopped near a Hutan Rekreasi.. pumped up the boat, unloaded the stuff, had it waterproofed, then parked the car and off we went. It rained as we were paddling. Got to the island and made a temporary shelter. (But moved later on as the tide would set in.)Hanged around for a bit then decided to cook lunch. We were almost done cooking lunch when we saw a troop of monkeys swimming over to the island. A small troop of about 6. They were wild and kinda fearless. We tried to scare them off but they were just stubborn. We pulled the bot out to sea so they wouldn't get to it as they seem to fear going into the open space. And after we lost the Battle of Waterloo, we went back to count our casualties (after they left of course!).
We lost Kuhan's lunch, some 3in1 coffee, had some torn bags and that was about it. Could have put up a fight with them but they might have rabbis.. we wont want to risk having our faces torn too.

We couldn't find proper land to set up tent. Kuhan bought this huge tent almost like a mini field hospital. And it was rock everywhere. still, we managed to set one up next to a huge rock to help as a wind breaker and wall. We practically set up camp next to a cliff. Used only the second layer of the tent as roofing and the rest of the tent as a mattress. Uneven ground but that was where we slept. lol
